Spider-Man: Across the Spider-verse Review

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-verse is, in my opinion, both the greatest animated movie ever made, and the greatest Spider-Man movie ever made. Somehow, Phil and Lord strike gold twice after 2018’s Into the Spider-verse, which is in its own right one of the greatest Spider-Man movies ever made.

We Need to Raise Minimum Wage

Let’s take a look at minimum wage in the Philippines, and take note that the rate in this example is the rate for Metro Manila under non-agriculture industries:

1. That’s PHP 570 a day, which adds up to PHP 11,400 a month. From experience, let’s just say you live in a small apartment for PHP 4,000 a month. You don’t pay taxes, but electricity will cost around maybe PHP 1,500, with your phone and WiFi probably around PHP 1,000 combined. You eat frugally, so you probably only spend PHP 3,000 on food a month. That leaves PHP 1,900 for you to spend on disposable income or on your savings.

Not a pretty picture, isn’t it? Compare how much the average person will have left for them to spend after all usual expenses in the US, UK, and Japan with how much we end up with. It’s not even close. Please keep in mind that my example uses the highest minimum wage in the country; provincial rates are even lower.

To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before Movie Review

(Can’t believe I’m writing about a chick flick hahahahaha) To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before was a fascinating movie. First thing that instantly caught my eye is how the shots are done. Like seriously, I love the blocking, compositing, the COLOR PALETTE, and generally the whole film’s visual style. Like it is ridiculous how…

Crazy Rich Asians Film Review

What can I say about Crazy Rich Asians that hasn’t been said already? Well, for starters, it’s a rom-com. We know the genre’s tropes all too well by now (I mean, if you’ve seen rom-coms from the last decade or so, or even beyond that, you know what to expect). Crazy Rich Asians isn’t a perfect…

Sunday Surprises

I rarely shout during a solemn meeting. I’m usually very reverent, composed, and behaved for a conference of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. But for the first time in my life, I let out a shout of disbelief and shock as I watched the Sunday sessions of the 188th Annual General Conference…

A Solemn Assembly of The Church of Jesus Christ

Today, I participated in a rare, and historic moment in the modern world, one done only 14 times before: a solemn assembly of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. A solemn assembly is one in which members of different quorums, groups, and the general membership of the Church sustain a new prophet, seer,…

Pop Culture, Ancestors, and the gods

Today, I had a great experience. For the first time in a long time, I had a genuine, and long conversation with a person. I’m not saying that I don’t have genuine or long conversations with people. It’s just that today was one of those rare times and moments that I had a long talk…

Welcome to my new blog!

Hello! Welcome to my blog! It’s been a while since I’ve posted here, *looks at last post*, yep, a reaaaaaaaaally long time. However, I am back!

A Paperless Society (Might Mean No Exams!* See Below :) )

Ah the future is great. Why? Because now, now is the time of the future of the past which is the present now. Confused? That’s ok. Well, in this future, we seem to be losing our paper, and are continually moving on to a paperless environment. Paperless environment, that’s a quite a concept. And yet,…

The End of the Harry Potter Series

I think it’s safe to assume that everybody in the world has heard of Harry Potter. The young ones, the not so young ones, and the young-at-heart ones, they’ve all at least heard mention once of the great series and franchise which is Harry Potter. That is the last book of the series and I’m…
